And relax. For now…
Tuesday was loan-signing day at Brentford. Confirmation was received that deals have been struck with Chelsea and Fulham which will see George Saville and Marcello Trotta stay with The Bees until the end of the season. The former was less of a surprise, given some of the ‘tweets’ issued by first-teamers on Monday afternoon. However, in the case of Marcello it was very much a case of all cards being played close to the chest.
Given the Italian’s strike rate and the settled team this has come as a great relief. I found out on my mobile phone, via twitter, when Mark Devlin announced the news at lunchtime. The immediate reaction was to follow his link direct to the club website, to read more. On which the immediate reaction was then to turn away in horror.

Thanks for reading over the course of the campaign. For now I need to make space on this page for any follow up. The ‘close season’ / World Cup columns continue in full, further on in this site.
