Saturday sees Brentford entertain Notts County at Griffin Park, hoping to make ground on top placed Wolves (themselves, facing a tricky encounter against JPT winners Peterborough).
Flicking through the latest issue of FourFourTwo magazine, I’ve spotted two potentially positive omens. First up, is their feature on the top 50 players from the football league (i.e. Championship down to League 2).

Thanks for reading over the course of the campaign. For now I need to make space on this page for any follow up. The ‘close season’ / World Cup columns continue in full, further on in this site.
This isn’t really meant to be a comment but a message to you Nick. I see you have used a Getty Images pic within your piece.
I have some experience of these guys and not all of it is pleasant. Unless you have a commercial deal with them you are laying yourself open to getting a nasty letter from them accompanied by an invoice at punitive levels. They have an outsourced team that trawls the net looking for unauthorised use of Getty images and they work on a commission basis. The images carry a ‘signature’ that makes it easier for this team to find them. They use heavy tactics with a bullying approach linked to legal proceeeding threats.
You may be covered of course but thought I should pass on the warning. I have been bitten in the past
Appreciated. And agreed. Wouldn’t normally touch with a bargepole for the exact reasons you specify.
However, they have recently allowed bloggers to use their pics through the ’embed’ function – which gives a link back to Getty and due credit to the photographer.
I think it was a case of it no longer being ‘cost effective’ to employ a team to Trawl the interweb
How’s this for an unlucky omen. Kenny Jackett has won manager of the month for March. That’s it then, season over. We’ll struggle to get another point.
Surely, MOTM is the king of all jinxes.
Saw that news about a minute after I’d hit ‘publish’ and left for work.
Happy days indeed….
I’d just had £10 at the bookies on Wolves to beat Peterborough 3 – 1. Should have saved my money
