YESSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Brentford have only gone and done it (and we even cheered on Wolves).
What a day. What an afternoon. Oh, what a night !! Grown men cried as the stands emptied out on to the pitch. Forget the FA Cup. Brentford celebrated like they’d won the Champion’s League.
We ARE going up. And now you’d better believe us. A potential three West London derbies await as Braemar Road echoed to the sounds of the reworked ‘Knees up Mother Brown – “Bees up, Fulham down”.

Thanks for reading over the course of the campaign. For now I need to make space on this page for any follow up. The ‘close season’ / World Cup columns continue in full, further on in this site.
Well done Bees, thoroughly deserved! Most of all though delighted that you’ll be joining my beloved Wolves in the Championship next season as it means I’ll have the pleasure of reading your excellent blog on a weekly basis. Cheers Nick.
Thanks Steve. Massively appreciated all round. Congratulations yourself. Can’t imagine how the last ten minutes of your game were……
Well having seen us lose 0-1 to Wallsall, 0-2 to MK Dons and win 0-1 to MK Dons I was due some entertainment, but yesterday was just nuts!
Pitch invasions are understandable at the end of a long season after you’ve won promotion (such as your guys yesterday) but some of our fans swarmed onto the pitch are we shot into the side netting!!!!
We`’ll get fined and rightly so and hopefully some of the idiots will be identified and banned.
Good thing about the Bees is that you’re more likely to hang onto some of your excellent players, Forshaw etc…now you’ve secured promotion.
Well done Bees, glad you got there in the end. Griffin Park isn’t my most favourite ground to visit so get that new stand built asap. Three points from the next three games will give us the title, due to our superiorgoal difference. Wouldn’t that be good to get at Orient. Coventry away and then Carlisle at home. Nice trophy presentation on the final day. Hopefully QPR do go up because that is another poor ground. Good luck to Rotherham in the play offs, they deserve to go up. Good fans, great stadium, good football. Speak to you next season. Keep up the blog, its a good read.
Cheers Darren – can’t wait for the new ground either (although for us Bees, GP has a certain charm).
See you in the Championship
Well done Brentford. It must have been a little odd for you Griffin Park yesterday. Would you have preferred a Wolves win to seal your promotion or a Wolves loss to increase your chances of the title? Also you must have wondered why there was such a delay. The game kicked off 10 minutes late (it was announced at the ground that there had been an accident on the M1 which had delayed Rotherham fans) coupled with the 9 minutes time added, mainly for the mindless few who invaded the pitch four times. It took the shine off what was probably one of the strangest and certainly most memorable Wolves matches I’ve ever been to.
No doubt we’ll cop a large fine from the FA.
It’s a cracking feeling isn’t it? And it should feel doubly wonderful for you guys after the cruel, cruel end to your season last year.
Really pleased for you and also glad that we were able to play a small part in the day that saw you go up.
I’m sure you must have seen this but here is a youtube clip of your players in the changing room at the end of the game listening to the Wolves game.
They almost greeted our 6th goal against Rotherham as ecstatically as the fans in old gold and black at Molineux. Over 30,000 at the golden palace yesterday and just looking forward now to setting about the Championship now.
Well done, well deserved and good luck for next year
