What can you see about that? Well done to Watford for taking their chances and taking all three points. Bad luck Brentford for playing, at times, some scintillating football and coming close to a draw that, on the balance of play, would have been the least we deserved.
That said, “Bad luck, well played and scintillating football” count for nothing if you can’t convert….
To read the rest of this article, season 2014/15 is now available to download onto Kindle (and other electronic reading device) in full. Containing additional material and even some (poor) editing, you can get it here for less than the cost of a Griffin Park matchday programme or Balti Pie.
Thanks for reading and all your comments over the course of the season. For now, I need to make more space on the site for any follow up. However, ‘close season’ will continue in full, further along.

Sorry but “Sexy Football”? You were a best industrious and Watford jittery and below par. If that is a strong performance for the Bees then I fear for you when the other league teams really click
Sexy? Industrious? The same thing in some editor’s books.
The Bees were workmanlike at times, absolutely, but did also cut through the Watford defence with ease at others (something you did to us, too, I’d note).
Two very positive teams who, infact, will be the ones yo set the pace once they fully click
Our defence is our weak point and I would expect most teams to cut through. I’m not being disrespectful but you looked eager but limited, otherwise you would have taken your chances. This division is full of scrapers and that is not enough. Put a Deeney in any team and you see the difference. That was the key difference yesterday between both teams, difference is he will come back for Watford
I actually thought you lot were decent last night, your goal was excellently executed, even if you ran through our midfield without a single challenge. The penalty was soft but there was contact, the ref’ seemed to have a clear view but it was a needless challenge as he was going away from goal – you always take a risk coming in from the side inside the box.
The Vydra winner was worthy of winning any game to be honest, a great hit, he’s getting his mojo back. When you came on at us at the end we could/should easily extended our lead.
Good game though, you’ve got a decent team there bud!
Was working last night and all day today so all I caught was 1 mins highlight with no report. The one thing that stood out was the penalty. Seriously? That was a penalty? I thought we were told these decisions were supposed to even themselves out, we got plenty owing then! Back in 93 I also remember a horrendous penalty decision against us at Vicarage Road.
And then there was Vydra with his outstanding long range effort which we seem to have against us practically every game at the moment. Dougie’s goal though was a joy. We just need that bit of luck and a competent referee
