Do our fans need this much of a helping hand?

23 Oct

The memory of the 0-0 draw with Sheffield Wednesday is fast heading into the distance as Brentford prepare for Saturday’s trip to Bolton. However, before we start talking all things ‘Wanderers’ there are a few final thoughts, and an open question, in regards to Tuesday.

To read the rest of this article, season 2014/15 is now available to download onto Kindle (and other electronic reading device) in full. Containing additional material and even some (poor) editing, you can get it here for less than the cost of a Griffin Park matchday programme or Balti Pie.

Thanks for reading and all your comments over the course of the season. For now, I need to make more space on the site for any follow up. However, ‘close season’ will continue in full, further along.

There were actually two bizarre broadcasts over the new road tannoy on Tuesday. One was the canned “we’re top of the league” chant as you mention above which was awful. Equally bad was the Beatles cover montage before the game. No idea who was singing but they were awful. Both very odd choices.

As an Ealing Road-er(?) I find the spirits on Ghost Adventures clearer to understand than the Griffin Park PA system.

Poor Andrew Wing. The system has appeared to have chosen a swastika to represent him!

It was the first time i heard it happen. And it was rather confusing. My guess is that they didnt stop it in time.

Ah, is it actually at the end of the “Come on you Brentford” song and they just forgot to stop it in time? Makes sense now!

Perhaps they need to hit fade. Or just switch it with Billy Reeves and Here come the Bees in the Championship

Andrew is correct, they use the audio from the video rather than the original song. The video was filmed partly at the live performance in the Globe which launched the single. I managed to capture the audience singing the song and it made a nice end to the video. Definitely not some new-fangled pre-kick off nonsense. We don’t do that kind of thing anymore!
