Is Matthew Benham getting a hard hat & shovel ready?

24 Dec

Whilst most peoples’ immediate focus is on Friday’s Championship showdown between Brentford and Ipswich Town, there was huge longer-term news yesterday with an announcement that took us another step closer to our new home. Specifically, that agreement has now been signed with developers Willmott Dixon to deliver the new stadium (and associated facilities) aswell as to subsequently convert Griffin Park into a collection of new homes.

To read the rest of this article, season 2014/15 is now available to download onto Kindle (and other electronic reading device) in full. Containing additional material and even some (poor) editing, you can get it here for less than the cost of a Griffin Park matchday programme or Balti Pie.

Thanks for reading and all your comments over the course of the season. For now, I need to make more space on the site for any follow up. However, ‘close season’ will continue in full, further along.

Great stuff. Both the news and the article. Love the pic of poor Harry with Buzzette!

You’re right about Griffin Park, Gawd Bless Er. I’m past crying at results of football matches but find it hard to keep emotions in check when thinking of saying goodbye to that place. So many memories. If you see a 40 something bald bloke looking dazed and confused hours after the final final whistle that will be me… Actually, there could be a few of us. #OldBrentford must have made many a Bees supporting hair fall out.

Merry Christmas to you, your family and the extended Bees Family. What a year 2014 was and my, how 2015 is so full of promise.

Thanks again for your continued excellent blogging. Delighted it is no longer confined to just home matchdays and the subsequent editing that brought!
