An afternoon of domination but….

25 Aug

Charlton Athletic 1 Brentford 0. What I want to say after this one isn’t printable at present. Besides, those same thoughts have already been penned this morning for the match day programme ahead of Derby County visiting on Saturday. Albeit less sweary….!

It was more a case of striking when the opportunity presented itself. And since nobody wants duplication – least of all the editor – this is your lot for today. Pick up the magazine should you somehow have any interest in yours truly’s opinion on this result and the broader situation.

Not my words…. etc etc

We’ve all seen it now, anyway.  Over two and a half thousand travelling to The Valley by boat, tube and other means. And if not, the EFL highlights are here.

Very much a case of Shoulda Woulda Coulda at the death. Oh well. At least it gives an easy option if anyone is playing #BeeTheDJ at the Derby game.

Catch the action

If anyone fancies being the DJ..

Its all a bit deflating for bees fans at the moment and some of tf’s selections and substitutions do appear a little erratic .but we are not that far away from being a good side .where we are lacking is obvious to us all and i am sure will be fixed soon .keep the faith and all that.

A bit difficult to pick up the match day magazine in Australia. Your audience is larger than match day attendance numbers.
There are 41 matches remaining, and probably another 70 points are needed from a possible 123 available. For a team as good as Brentford that is certainly not a herculean task.

I think we are skirting around the real issue….can anyone name a player that has improved under our Coach?. Has Sergies second ball and finishing improved?. Before he left had our centre forward improved his conversion rate of chances to goals ?. Has our defence improved? (each of our four goals conceded so far have been from unmarked players in the box). Our coach is not up to the job.

Yes defending is better and yes Maupay improved .not sure that Sergei has any problem and not sure if any of these are directly because of coach .

Agreed, and whats more worrying ‘he’s not going anywhere’, so more inept decisions, and an extreme danger of wearing out the half way line, with a pretty toothless performance beyond that – look at the stats. There is plenty of football to be played, but in my opinion the coach doesn’t have the nous to realise the talent he’s got in the squad.

Blatant time wasting once again ignored by the referee. Charlton players frequently falling to ground clutching their heads just as Brentford were breaking away up-field. Often two going down at same time either aware that they would not have to leave the pitch for treatment or because they has not realized that one of their team mates had already followed instructions. Having said that we never looked as a goal would ever arrive!

Really hope in future we will not have to wait until next home match programme to read Nick’s comments.

Spot on ref the head ‘incidents’, I hope the EFL is logging the number of times that players are needing treatment for head ‘injuries’. Some teams are doubtless using this as a shithousing tactic…. Charlton and Birmingham are serial offenders
