Was the boss really watching the same game as us? Did anyone impress?

4 Dec

Brentford head up to Leeds United on Sunday off the back of that 2-0 defeat at Tottenham. Spurs deserving of the win in a game where the Bees seemed very much on the back foot. Thomas Frank would use his press conference prior to that Leeds game to say, “I loved our approach; we were front-footed, we were aggressive, we were pressing forward and pressing high throughout the game. I love that we were brave and wanted to be on the ball.”

A first appearance since Covid tests for Jensen

Ok. That’s his view and respect for the opinion but we called it differently. Very differently. Did anyone display this high press at Tottenham? Who was brave? Who wanted to be on the ball more than Spurs and, as importantly, how? Well, the latest player analysis from that one is now online and can be found here. The good news being that there are positives to be found with some key players finding form and some new names troubling the charts to discover who will be the main men for Brentford over the course of 2021/21.

Enjoy. And see you at Leeds United.

Very dissapointed with the view we weren’t good enough. Its Tottenham away i think a lot of bees fans have lost perspective of who we are as a club. Smallest budget in the league and if we dont win a game its all gloom and doom. Thomas often says confident but humble and all ive seen this year from fans is confidence then dissapointment when we dont win every game.

Deluded sometimes, awful 1st half, sideways and back and hoof it away to nobody, top, top performance, not.

Frank still relying on Championship approach with too much possession in own half, congesting penalty area on set pieces and not leaving anyone up for counter-attacks. Admire Ivan but he needs to be up more and not forced into defending.

Apart from first few mins and last 15 mins when the game was done we were very poor. I was surprised to find myself agreeing with Glenn Hoddle on the commentary who said the bees midfield didn’t look like they wanted the ball. If we get back to playing how we did first 8 or 9 games we’ll be fine. If we continue to play like we have last 5 matches we’ll be in trouble.
I think it was massively unfair that Spurs had a week off to prepare for that match, and I think it’s most unfair that Leeds get an extra 2 days rest to prepare for us this Sunday, particularly as we are away to them.
    Welcome to the PL….

I thought that norgard played well .but I agree with everything else here .also the defenders aren’t passing forwards like they did because they have no options in front of them or with Charlie goodes he is doing OK with the defending at the moment but his passing is awful. Alvaro did well in the game but no goalkeeper in the prem can pass like David and we we miss him.big performance at Leeds and we will all forget.
