Our evening in the North-West ended with a 2-0 defeat for Brentford. A much changed team, which included David Raya for his first Premier League start in over four months, was unable to hold off the might of Manchester City despite giving it their all. With Ivan Toney presumably held back for Crystal Palace on Saturday, who were the top performers for Brentford? What were the highlights? And the lowlights, if any?

As ever, you can read it here in the post match catch up to find the leading player of the season aswell as our regular top five. It was close. It was disciplined but, in the end, it was Manchester City away….

Much much better last night 👍🏽
Credit where credit is due so you have to acknowledge what a good defensive display that was apart of course from the two mistakes. Once again our decision making has let us down and although we were never going to score we could have gained a valuable point.
I thought Raya had stopped playing those suicidal short passes and as we don’t have a RB anyone playing in that position is liable to make a tackle like that.
If we have a full team out on Saturday then this will be the opportunity to see if we have the quality to stay up.
Think you will find Mads is a right back and has been doing a good job as of late, prefer to see him rather than Sergi playing that role & Raya clearly still does have that mistake in his armoury, not taking away that he is still a great keeper.
The players on the pitch last night did us proud, even with the two stupid mistakes but these things happen. My only two comments from last night are 1. Why have we got two goalkeepers on the bench? and 2. Was letting Forss go to Hull a mistake?
