Another Lamex lament

Stevenage Town. Perhaps, ongoing, Brentford fans would do well giving the place a wide berth. In their previous guise of ‘Borough’, I always had some grudging admiration for what Stevenage did, despite supporting the Bees. Those plucky non-league underdogs who took Newcastle United to a famous 1998 FA Cup replay and, in the process, elicited a meltdown of pre and post match moaning from Kenny Dalglish that was almost at Kevin Keegan-esque levels. To the point where even Jeremy Paxman asked of Dalglish, “Are you a big girl’s blouse?

Then they won the conference in 2009/10 and it all changed.
