Brentford returned from the South Coast with three more points in the back pocket. Bournemouth beaten and now looking forward to the visit from Newcastle United on Sunday afternoon. Most impressively, the Bees winning in Blue for the first tine in two years – at the final time of asking.

A 2-1 win for Brentford at Bournemouth one which was as notable for the fact it was done in ‘that’ shirt as it was 0-0 with just a few minutes of regulation time remaining. Next up, the campaign comes to a close with the visit of a Newcastle United side still chasing European places.

What can we expect from final away day of the campaign?

Just two games to go for Brentford, starting with this Saturday’s trip to Bournemouth. Last weekend’s draw with Fulham perhaps posing as many questions as answers for this one, with the ‘top five’ from that game with The Cottagers giving Thomas some nice selection choice.

Don’t boo Ivan, blame Jar Jar Binks. Brentford v Fulham post-match debrief.

We can all wake up now. Let’s put the lie in down to Bank holiday Monday rather than any layover from a 0-0 draw between Brentford and Fulham that did well to even feature last on Match Of The Day. A weekend that saw Leeds United’s automatic promotion dreams fall apart (again) and Birmingham City relegated to League One didn’t quite have the perfect finish. Still, at least it’s another point ahead of Saturday’s trip to Bournemouth, albeit the pre-match omens in The Black Dog (arguably Brentford’s best pub these days) did suggest terrible things. A day that started with a dismal pun ended with a dismal game.

Can neighbours become good friends? No chance – the West London derby awaits.

Brentford host Fulham on Saturday afternoon, looking to start the final three games of the season in style. Everton last weekend (here, if you need) has been and gone. This is all about beating our nearest and ( not so) dearest. About three points. Ideally about emulating August’s 3-0 at The Cottage. Or better.

A fourth season in the Premier League now (officially) awaits Brentford, should anybody have been worried about that possibility. That will be the take away from a weekend which saw the Bees go down 1-0 at Everton. The five game unbeaten run coming to an end and, instead, all eyes front and centre towards the forthcoming West London derby with Fulham at the Gtech.

Next up, The Bees will be looking to complete the season double over our West London neighbours

Like the Bees, Everton will also feature in the top flight next season so we get to play them twice more (excitement, she wrote). Hot off the heels of Saturday’s 5-1 demolition of Luton, Brentford head up to Everton in a game which starts our final four this season. With both teams having earned back to back wins in recent fixtures, one could argue that perhaps any residual pressure has lifted. Not that Thomas Frank has seemed overly perturbed by that over the course of the campaign.

Simply magnificent from Brentford. Having put the boot into Sheffield United previously, the next game of three against the teams treading gingerly around the relegation zone (Everton are next up on Saturday evening) saw Luton Town hammered at the weekend. A 5-1 thrashing inflicted by an utterly joyous and free flowing Bees’ team.

With the hosts knowing they could overtake both Nottingham Forest and Everton (who meet on Sunday in El Breachico – or should that be El Cashico?), this one really does have it all to play for.
