Having spent the vast majority of last season (the nailbiter against Rotherham United aside) hoping that our main promotion rivals, Wolves, would drop points each time they played, their victory over Fulham last night means I need to say, “Thank you Wolves. Great result”.
It is a result that, whilst seeing Wolves overtake The Bees for now, leaves Fulham staring up at everybody barring Blackpool. Just to put that into perspective, they now have a record worse than that of serial jinx, Clem, from the Football League Show.

Nice Blog and good to cross swords with your good selves again.
I was at the game last night and prior to game would gladly have take a point. It was quite blatant, after our quick start, that the crowd started to get on the Fulham teams backs.
They do play some good football going forward but do not have that killer instinct. This then puts the pressure on them at the back, where they don`t seem so comfortable.
This was our third game in which we have played our opposition off the park. Considering two were from the premier in both Fulham and Norwich it keeps the positivity up. Our only disappointment was Rotherham, where only the man upstairs can tell me how we didn`t beat them Still that`s football. The third team come to Molineux on Saturday in Cardiff and if we can get a result from that game then i would consider it a great start to the season.
As for McCormack costing £11 million, Leeds must be laughing their heads off. What a joke, he doesnt even look fit and spent most of the game chasing people and kicking them. Eventually he got booked and once he got the card he decided he was injured and left the pitch. Anyway i will be down to Griffin Park in December, when the league will have taken shape and we will all have some idea of what we are looking at.

£11m for McCormack seemed crazy on paper. Even more so now – although still very early days for a player in a team whose morale must already be in the Conference. I’m sure he’ll come good – just hopefully not too soon
Thanks Nick. Us Wolves fans can be a pretty sensitive bunch. Incidentally I’ve never thought that you had an issue with Wolves other than that which we all have about a rival team and I will continue to enjoy reading your blog (even if sometimes I don’t quite understand the references). I will certainly be hoping for a Brentford win on Saturday although not for any reason other than you’re playing Birmingham.
